26th of March-Second practice match against Bonbeach

We headed up to the neutral Badden Powle reserve on Saturday for the final scratch match before the season proper starts against Bonbeach a sideplaying in the old premier devision. The under 18s got us a started with a solid win against Bonbeach a side usually around the mark for finals in a stronger comp. The reserves were playinga side that that has featured in a few grand finals and primeirship in recent years and were very evenly matched with the game ending to everyones suprise a draw. The seniors made it 1winand 1 loss for the pre-season narrowly going down depsite 1 man on the bench and calling on a few under 18s mid way through the match to relieve the bench. A good effort from the boys with a quite excitment spreading before the season gets under way next week against Rosebud at home.

19th of March-First pre-season hit-out

We welcomed Kilsythe up to the Hill on the weekend a Eastern Football league side. The under 18s kicked us off with a steady win but look there is still a bit of jelling needed before the season starts. The reserves sported somenew faces and some returning old faces and had a solid hit out under new coach "Whale" and captain Brent Ritchie and look ready for another good year. The seniors had a pretty comfortable daywith some solid contributions all over the park including from some new faces and very young faces fresh out of the under 16 and 18s which was good to see them getting a kick. All in all a promising start but there will be a bigger test against Bon beeach and Peninsula devision side next Saturday (details below).

12th of September-Under 16s win 6 straight! (Sorry about the delay)

On Sunday the under 16s finished off an amazing junior record with a 6thstraight flag when they defeated Sth Mornington in the Grand Final. Itcapps off a wonderful junior   record which included six flags and agrand total of 6 loses over 6 years. The last feat was achieved withoutseveral star players due to the match being delayed a week due to thepoor conditions of the ground meaning players missed through pre-bookedfamily holidays. The best on ground medal went to Rheede Hoppgood.Unfortunately for the under 15s they could not pull off their firstpremiership after several defeats in the big one in previous years. They did come so very close but just couldn't quite pull off the effort. There is always next year and the older the age the sweeter the victory.Under 16s Best: J. Douglas, R. Hopgood, S. Collins, K. Pratt, R. Reynolds, S. Stephens Goals: W. Tuck 2, K. Pratt 2, R. Hopgood 2, W. Young 2, J. Sloggett 2, L. Toy 2, J. Pain , J. Douglas , S. Collins , S. Stephens. Under 15s Best: C. Beasy, J. Wood, N. In the under 18s Mitchell La Fontaine came 4th in the League B & F while Josh Mold came equal 5th in the League B & F. A great effort by the boys mentioned and we look forward to seeing themrunning around in the Red and white for a long while to come.

4th of September-A disapointing end to a great year

On Saturday we headed down to Rye again for the clubs first Prelim in 20years. However with massive rain that has been falling recently theground was less than suitable for finals football with quater timealmost seeing the rescheduling of the game. In the the end though thegame was continued and after a slow start Sommervilles more mature andfresher bodies built their lead into what was the boys biggest loss forthe year. It was a long season for the leagues youngest list and a lotof players were missing and carrying injuries that would have seem themrested in any other game. However despite a disapointing scoreline whenthe final siren it has been a break out year for Jason's young chargesand they can be really proud of their efforts to go from equal last(second last overall) the year before to challenging for a grand finalbirth with the help of  largely locally raised list.Best: B. Maguinness, J. McCall, M. Dal Lago, H. Byrt, J. Mold, K. Hopgood Goals: K. Hopgood 2, P. Dal Lago 2, P. Webster 2, J. McCall , M. Burns , S. Holmes , B. Maguinnes.

29th of August-One heartbreak and one great result

We headed down to Pearcedale this week to take on Rye in both the reseves and the seniors. Firstly to the reserves who after a marathon game last week finished only in extra time went downby 2 points. Braids boys fough back from being down most of the day butlike last week were wasteful when they had the ascedency and went downby 3 points. It was a disapointing end to the season for the boys whowere the dominant team of the comp for a majority of the season. However this year saw great improvement in the younger players that shall set a great base and depth for the club in its aim for future success. Best: M. Backhausen, S. Dangerfield, L. Harris, R. Mace, F. Kearney, J. Potter Goals: J. Hitchiner 3, A. Mock 2, R. Jones 2, S. Ramsay.  Now to the seniors who after just going down last week in a spirited show were up against aexpereinced side in Rye. The boys started strong and gained momentum asthe game went extending their lead at every break to achieve a six goalwin. It was a great result benefiting the hard work put in by allthroughout the year. However now is no time to look back and say "what a great year" and be happy. Now is the time to push towards the GrandFinal in knocking over Sommerville next week and make it a truly greatyear by then knocking over Sorrento in the Granny.Best: J. Byrt, J. Mold, M. Burns, R. Blake, A. Gilmour, P. Webster Goals: S. Holmes 4, J. Mold 3, R. Blake 2, P. Webster , H. Larwill , M. Dal Lago , D. Jones , K. Hopgood , M. Bateman , K. Hitchiner

Go Hillmen!

21st-22nd of August-Finals kick off with mixed results

Finals kicked off on Saturday and Sunday at Rye and Pearcedale respectively. In order of appearance The seniors ran out on Saturday against Sommerville in the First Semi-Final with thewinner playing minor premiers Sorrento and loser playing the winner ofthe Sunday Elimination final. The game started with a bang for Red Hillutterly dominating the game in the first quater but unfortunately werevery wasteful kicking 5 goals 7 points. After that the game turned into a real arm wrestle for control with Sommerville kicking away early in the last for Red Hill to claw back and then for Sommerville to kick awaylate which saw us lose the match by just over 2 goals. While result wasnot what we were after there was a real endeavour among the playinggroup to claw back in the last quater when the game looked lost and youget the feeling that with a four quater effort that the game would havevery easily ended in our favour. A bit more consistency through the game will see us progress next week.Best: P. Dal Lago, S. Holmes, M. Dal Lago, J. Mold, J. Mitchell Goals: K. Hitchiner 3, J. Mold 3, M. Burns 2, D. Jones 2, B. Maguinness , M.Dal Lago , H. Byrt , A. Holmes , R. Blake , S. Holmes The reserves filled the unfamilar timeslot of dew kickers on Sunday with the league in allits wisdom changing match times with the under 18s. However the game was an absolute cracker with Dromana having a full compliment of eligibleSenior players to choose from after their senior side bowed out offinals. The game went very similar to the seniors with the wasteropportunities costing Red Hill during the game and especially when itcame to the end of the game. However despite having numerous more shotsthan Dromana the game ended in a DRAW with extra time needed to seperate the our boys from Dromanas. The boys ran out winners with the winninggoal going to "Poffa" in his 150th club game a great achievement. Nextweek sees us take on Rye a side we should have beaten twice this year,no mistakes this time lads. Best: J. Hitchiner, S. Delgrosso, H. Kellett, R. Mace, S. Dangerfield, L.Doyle Goals: J. Hitchiner 4, P. Webster , N. Esipoff , L. Harris , M. Holmes , A.Mock , S. Ramsay , R. Jone. The under 18s ran out with a real chance to progress to the second stage of finals andafter starting strongly really couldn't keep their momentum goingthroughout the game and bowed out of finals. They were up against itfrom the start with only 21 players including a Jonesy who doubled upfrom the marathon reserves game.  Despite finishing early the boys didreally well this year including playing most the year with barely 18players and still making finals. A few more players coming up next yearshall see you up there again boys. Best: J. Pivetta, B. Williams, B. Money, Z. Williams, M. Mock, B. Morgan Goals: B. Money 6, R. Jones 2, D. Neal

14th of August-A bit of luck covers poor showing

On Saturday we headed up the highway to Tyabb in what was two very vital games for the seniors and reserves. The under 18s won without being truly convincing. Finals await next week time to take it to Dromana. Best:L. Nickels, J. Lowther, M. Mock, B. Morgan, H. Donaldson, R. Shaw Goals: D. Neal 4, B. Money 2, J. Mold , N. Stapleton. The reserves were utterly dominate in their quest for a slim shot at a double chance winning by a lazy 148 points restricting Tyabb to 1.3. UnfortunatelyDromana failed to beat Rye in the reserves relegating us a to aelimination final against Dromana next week. Best: S. Dangerfield, R. Mace, R. Jones, B. Ritchie, H. Byrt, J. Hitchiner Goals: R. Jones 4, S. Ramsay 3, N. Esipoff 2, B. Martin 2, B. Ritchie 2,B.Schreuder 2, H. Byrt 2, R. Mace 2, S. Dangerfield 2, F. Kearney ,J.Hitchiner The seniors were playing for a double chanceand considering the ramifications for losing were disapointing despiteshowing flashes of good football at times. However for the first time in either clubs history Dromana did us a favour by winning their fourthgame of the year in knocking off Rye and handing us the double chance.Time to make up for a poor couple weeks and know over Sommy in the first final. Best: B. Maguinness, M. Dal Lago, K. Hitchiner, T. Gibson, P. Webster, M. Bateman Goals: K. Hitchiner 5, M. Burns 2, S. Holmes 2, T. Gibson 2, M. Dal Lago , R. Blake.

7th of August-Bit of dour day up on the Hill

Well on Saturday we welcomed up arch enemy in Rye (for the younger players anyway) to the Hill. The under 18s  got off to a good start with a thumping 139 point win where only twosingle points were conceded both before half time. Great defensive andattacking effort. Best: J. Mold, B. Money, L. Nickels, D. Neal, M. La Fontaine, J. McKinnon Goals: B. Money 7, D. Neal 4, M. La Fontaine 3, J. Mold 3, H. Donaldson 2, M.Mock , R. Shaw. The ressies were playing for a double chance and a easier shot at a grand final andafter leading all day really dropped their bundle in last failing toregister a score. If we want to have a tilt boys this year moreendeavour is needed to win back the double chance this week and injuries is no excuse. On a lighter note great to see Schreuder and Rambo back from serious knee injuries. Best: R. Mace, H. Byrt, L. Doyle, M. Holmes, S. Delgrosso, L. Harris Goals: N. Esipoff 2, S. Ramsay , H. Byrt , M. Holmes , B. Martin. The seniors ran out severly depleted with 5 players missing from the week before but as with the reserves injuries are no excuse for losing and chances must be taken being 3.11 at 3 quater time isn't an ideal way to win a game offootball either. Time to get back to our best to secure form and thedouble chances come finals time. Best: J. Mitchell, B. Maguinness, C. Spencer, P. Dal Lago, A. Mock, J. Mold Goals:  B. Maguinness , K. Hitchiner , A. Mock , M. Tardif , S. Hickey

Next Week: Tyabb at Tyabb (Last game of the year)

31stof July-Three confirmed sides in finals but only one win for the day
On Saturday we rolled down the Hill to take on the arch enemy in Dromana in what was a bit of a up and down day. Firstly the under 18s despite playing some reasonable football were largely outclassed by their Dromana mates going down comfortably. Best: J. Lowther, B. Williams, M. Mock, J. Mold, J. Pivetta, J. Dowling Goals: B. Money , J. Mitchell , N. Stapleto. The reserves were a bit of a disapointment going down comfortably to the arch enemy andrelinquishing top spot in the process. More effort is needed if we areto be seen as contenders come finals time. Best: M. Shaw, M. Backhausen, H. Byrt, S. Dangerfield, B. Ritchie, R. Jones Goals: A. Mock 3, N. Esipoff 2, J. Hickey , H. Byrt , B. Ritchie , J. Hitchiner. Now to the seniors who after trailing most of the day (again) and looking a bit out ofsorts and off target rang out 4 goal winners after a 6 goal quater inthe last. The win has double significance in that it was over arch rival Dromana and secured the seniors their 10th win for the season and aspot in finals for the first time since 2000. Hats off to all theplayers and coaches who helped get the team there. All focus must nowturn to maintaining third spot on the ladder and a double chance comefinals time. Special mention to Blakey who kicked 6.4 Best: P. Dal Lago, R. Blake, C. Spencer, B. Maguinness, J. Mitchell, P.Webster Goals: R. Blake 6, M. Burns 3, K. Hitchiner 2, D. Jones

17th ofJuly-Two of the best wins of the year for the club (Sorry about the delay...)
On Saturday we welcomed up the old junior rival in Sommerville in whichall three sides were playing for double chances against sides just above them on the ladder. The under 18s  came up against lastyears premiers and were soundly beaten despite their best efforts. Don't dwell on it to much lads finals are a different kettle of fish, Best: Z. Williams, B. Williams, J. Pivetta, J. McKinnon, M. Mock, N. Stapleton Goals: D. Neal , L. Kelly. The Reserves  were fighting for top spot on the ladder and won in fine style leading fromstart to finish and keeping Sommy goalless in the last term. Greateffort. Best: M. Backhausen, M. Tardif, R. Mace, L. Harris, A. Mock, N. Shaw Goals: A. Mock 4, H. Byrt 3, M. Tardif 3, N. Esipoff 2, A. Tuck , R. Jones. The seniors were coming up against ladder leaders Sommy who had only lost the one gamefor the year to Red Hill. The seniors like the reserves lead throughoutthe game and piled on 7 goals to 1 in the second term setting up a win.It was a great effort by the boys and the coaching staff whichultimately puts us in a very advantageous position to finish in the topthree for a double chance. However with how close the competition isthere is not time to think of anything other than getting another winand securing a spot come finals time.(On a lighter note I'm sure MrsShaw is happy that Mr Shaw remaining hair follicles will remain in place for another week after a comfortable win)

10th of July-Three wins and the retention of the Emod Healy Shield

On Saturday we travelled down to meet the old foe Cirb Point in what arealways even and hard fought matches despite ladder differences that have occured over the years. The under 18s  came up against aside with one win on the board that did not play like it. The Crib boyshad a red hot dip and pushed our guys hard who despite being wasteful in front of goal came away with a good win.Best: J. Pivetta, M. La Fontaine, L. Rositani, R. Hopgood, N. Stapleton, J. Mold Goals: B. Money 3, D. Neal 2, L. Nickels , J. Lowther , N. Stapleton , R. Hopgoo. The reserves  likewise came up against a lowly team in Crib Point but were alsounconvicing facing a fighting Cribby side. However their good patches of footy were enough and in the end came away with a 50+ win and a top 2spot and will be no doubt turning the minds to the 1 versus 2 contestnext weekend with Sommy. Best:M. Holmes, S. Delgrosso, A. Mock, A. Tuck, B. Ritchie, M. Backhausen Goals: A. Mock 4, R. Jones 2, N. Esipoff , C. Spencer , B. Ritchie , M. Holmes , L. Harris , D. Robin , M. La Fontaine. Now to the Seniors who after a real hard fought win the week before were very lacklusteragainst a Cirb Point side that came to play and in a very desperatefashion. Luckily a patch in the third term gave us a big enough marginto hold on for the win in the dying moments. Despite not playing thebest footy it shows the self-belief the guys have in themselves but forOwy's remaining follicles of hair it might be nice to win a game fromstart to finish. Best: R. Blake, S. Hickey, J. Mold, B. Morrison, M. Dal Lago, T. Gibson Goals: R. Blake 4, P. Webster 3, D. Jones 2, J. Mitchell 2, M. Dal Lago , K. Hopgood , H. Larwill

3rd of July-3 very muddy and hard fought wins

On Saturday we welcomed Rosebud up the mud pit on the hill. The under 18s got us kicked off with a good performance if the scoreboard isnt taken into account. They kicked 5 goals 22 points to 2 goals 1 point so lookingstraight at scoring shots it was a dominant albeit inaccurateperformance. Best: R. Shaw, J. Pivetta, B. Money, B. Morgan, J. Mold, B. Williams Goals: B. Money , J. Mold , L. Kelly , B. Morgan , L. Nickel. The reserves played in absolutely terrible conditions and while dominating the game themovement of the ball more than 20 yards was almost impossible but stillmanaged a comfortable win. Good work by Poffy to kick 4 in those conditions Best: L. Doyle, R. Mace, N. Esipoff, M. Backhausen, F. Kearney, M. Shaw Goals: N. Esipoff 4, F. Kearney 2, S. Delgrosso , B. Ritchie , L. Harris. The seniors ran out eager to attone for the game they could/ should have won earlier in the year against Rosebud. They did it in typical lets wait to the last 5 minutes to hit the front fashion allowing for Owy to lose a few morehairs each minute which seems to be the general trend of the season. However all in all a great effort by the lads who now have placed thepressure on Rosebud to make finals ahead of Tyabb. Best: S. Holmes, P. Dal Lago, S. Hickey, B. Maguinness, J. Mitchell, A. Holmes Goals: S. Holmes 2, D. Jones 2, P. Dal Lago , K. Hopgood , R. Blake , J. Mitchell

28th of June-Mud wrestle

On Saturday we welcomed Frankston on a very wet day with three extremely vital matches up for grabs. Starting with the under 18s who were hunting a top three top. They battled hard all day against aFrankston side with an almost full compliment of top age players and who are currently undeafeted this year. Unfortunately for our lads who gotwithin a goal in the last just couldn't quite get over the line. A great fighting effort that if replicated week in week out could see a topthree spot still attainable. Best: M. La Fontaine, L. Kelly, J. Mold, M. Mock, B. Williams, J. Dowling Goals: J. Mold 2, L. Brown , N. Stapleton. Its not very ofter you kick 40 points for a win but the reserves managed a triumph and in the process set themselves in the top 3 ahead ofFrankston. A great effort against a Frankston side that has dominatedthe reserves comp for the last 5 years. Best: N. Shaw, L. Doyle, B. Ritchie, A. Holmes, A. Tuck, A. Morrison Goals: A. Morrison , D. Jones , M. Holmes , D. Robin , R. Jones , M. Shaw. Now to the Seniors who after looking down and out for most of the day snatched at draw in thelast minute of the game thanks to a great pressure set shot by KlayHopgood. The Draw sees them a game and half clear of Tyabb who are justoutside the top 5 and is almost certain to end the finals hopes ofFrankston which goes to say is enjoyable after some of the touch upsrecieved at their hands by our young side over the years. Best: M. Tardif, B. Maguinness, K. Hopgood, S. Hickey, J. Byrt, S. Holmes Goals:K. Hopgood 2, M. Burns , J. Mitchell , J. McCall , B. Maguinness , J. Mold.

19th of June-Netballers notch up two wins on the trot

Saturday saw the netballers who were without a win for a year and a half notchup their second win in as many weeks. Congrats girls

19th of June-Sorrento boys versus men

Saturday saw us travel down to Sunny Sorrento and return with only one win for our troubles.  The under 18s went in undermanned and undergunned with injuries but put in a fightingeffort unfortunately going down by a fair margain. Top three is stillpossible lads. Best:J. McKinnon, J. Dowling, M. La Fontaine, Z. Williams, R. Shaw, L. Kelly Goals: D. Neal 2, N. Stapleton 2, M. La Fontaine , L. Brown. The reserves were looking to consolidate thier position in the top 5 and push for a top 3 position, and win they did against a fellow finals bound Sorrentodespite losing leading goal kicker Mocky to the ones. Some goal kickingpractice is still in order however  if we are realy to put sides to thesword. Best:  L. Harris, D. Jones, J. Potter, A. Holmes, R. Jones, A. Tuck Goals: D. Jones 4, R. Jones 3, A. Tuck , S. Ramsay , L. Harris , J. Hitchiner. The seniors were hoping to add a top 3 scalp to their kit but the mature bodies andexpereinced heads of Sorrento taught our boys a lesson in football. However with 5 kids under 10 games running around against a mature sidethat has dominated local football for the better part of 5 years, asolid loss can be tolerated as long as it is not repeated. Time to takeit to Frankston and gain some revenge for the last few years we haveplayed them. Best: P. Webster, J. Byrt, M. Burns, R. Blake, T. Gibson, M. Tardif Goals: M. Burns 4, P. Webster , J. Byrt , K. Hopgood , P. Dal Lago , R. Blake , J. Mitchell

13th of June-Past Players day nail bitter
On Saturday we welcomed up the1990 Premiership team and the clubs past players. The under 18s after a bit of a slow start won a very spiteful contest by a comfortable 130+ points. Special mention to Braedon who kicked another 7. Best:M. Mock, D. Neal, B. Duff, M. La Fontaine, R. Shaw, C. Gillies Goals: B. Money 7, M. La Fontaine 4, D. Neal 4, L. Rositani , C. Carson , C. Gillies , B. Duff , J. McKinnon , L. Nickel. The Reserves ran out determined to dispatch a finals contender in Hastings and despitenot playing their best footy ran out 50+ winners with a few partytricksin the last qauter. Congrats to Rambo who had a good win and had achance to show off in front of his old team mates in the pavilion  Best:J. Potter, L. Harris, D. Robin, A. Holmes, D. Jones, B. Ritchie  Goals:  A. Mock 4, N. Esipoff 3, D. Jones 2, R. Jones 2, S. Ramsay , A. Holmes , D. Robin , B. Martin. The Seniors game was a real risky affair for the seniors after Hastings had narrowlylost games in the last month. At half time it looked like they weregoing to break the drought with a 6 goal lead. However our boys came outfired up after half time and whittled the lead away to hit the frontlate in the last quater after a boundry line goal from big Phil Webster. However there were some tense moments when Hastings drew level againand with a minute left the draw looked likely. But the boys turned it on with a large home crowd and drew away to win by a point. Congrats. Best: B. Maguinness, J. Byrt, T. Gibson, M. Tardif, P. Dal Lago, M. Burns Goals: S. Holmes 3, P. Webster 2, P. Dal Lago 2, M. Tardif 2, B. Maguinness , K. Hopgood , H. Byrt.

5th of June-Determined win against Pearcedale

It was a rainy old day on the trip down Pearcedale with all smiles on the way home after three wins in the wet. The under 18s with a 60+ win which is a real achievement in the wet. Special mention to Laffa kicking six. Best: M. La Fontaine, M. Mock, Z. Williams, R. Shaw, D. Neal Goals: M. La Fontaine 6, J. McKinnon 2, R. Shaw , L. Brown , D. Neal , J. Mold , N. Stapleton , J. Pivetta. The ressies werelooking for some revenge after some humiliating loses at Pearcedale inthe pastand look to be really jelling together despite some keypersonel out with injury or promoted to the seniors winning by 80+. 15th of May-Rye heartbreak

We traveled down to Rye on the weekend in what was a largely unproductive day for the boys and gals. The unders got the day off to a flying start with a handy 150 point win! Not a bad effort at all, however a tougher match up next game. Special mention to Braden who kicked 12...Best: B. Money, J. Mold, M. La Fontaine, J. Dowling, J. McKinnon, L. Nickels Goals: B. Money 12, D. Neal 3, L. Nickels 3, M. La Fontaine 2, J. Mold 2, J.Dowling , C. Davis , J. McKinnon , L. Brown. The ressies wereon a bit of high after beating Dromana the week before but couldn'tsustain it despite a handy lead at three quarter time. More 4 quarterefforts needed if we are gonna be contenders this year lads. Best: L. Harris, M. Holmes, D. Jones, S. Dangerfield, A. Holmes, R. Jones Goals: R. Jones 2, H. Byrt 2, D. Jones 2, J. McCall , J. Hitchiner , A. Tuck , S. Ramsay , A. Mock. The seniors werethe real highlight from an impartial view with a fast pace, changingscoreline and lots of contested ball however from a Red Hillperspective it was heartbreaking. After being six goals up at Half-timeand a goal up with two minutes on the clock Red Hill faltered to a 6point loss. A bit more consistent effort will ensure that games thatwere ours aren't lost again. Special mention to Phil Webster making his debut Best M. Dal Lago, K. Hitchiner, M. Burns, B. Maguinness, M. Tardif Goals :R. Blake 3, K. Hitchiner 3, K. Hopgood 3, M. Dal Lago 2, J. Mitchell ,H. Larwill

8th of May-Dromana at home and the return of the Bluey Holmes shield

We welcomed the old foe Dromana up the Hill on Saturday alongside the ladies and girls of the club and wasn't it glourious. The unders playedsome pretty good football but trailed most of their game but ran out 5point winners in the last quater despite some dubious free kickdecisions. A bit more consistency is needed to challange the top 3. Best: M. Mock, J. Pivetta, J. Dowling, C. Gillies, B. Williams, R. Shaw Goals: D. Neal 2, J. Mold 2, B. Money , J. Mitchell , L. Kelly , L. Brow. The reserves wereeager to say the least to get the wood over Dromana after someembarrasing and close games over the last fews years and to beat a sidethat has dominated the reserves comp over the last 4 years. They did itin a inaccurate but convincing fashion and won in a close one. Speacial mention to Jonesy who kicked 0.8... Best: P. Webster, A. Holmes, A. Mock, R. Jones, L. Harris, M holmes Goals: A. Mock 3, N. Esipoff 2, D. Jones 2, S. Ramsa. Now to the highlight of the day where the seniors returned the Bluey Holmes shield to grace our walls again. In a closecontest all day Dromana early in the last quater kicked away to a 25point lead, however with applaudible determination and pressure RedHill stormed home kicking infront in the last 3 minutes through JakeMitchel. A great effort against a quality side. Special mention to Matty Tardiff making his debut Best: M. Dal Lago, H. Larwill, A. Gilmour, J. Mitchell, K. Hitchiner Goals: M. Burns 4, M. Bateman 3, M. 1st of May-Rosebud Away

Pivetta, L. Nickels Goals: M. La Fontaine 4, D. Neal 4, B. Money 4, C. Carson 2, J. Mold , R.Cooper , C. Davis. The Ressieswere slow at of the blocks and wasteful in front of goal but came away20 point winners despite 10 more scoring shots. Time to put the slowstarts away boys. Best: P. Webster, L. Harris, S. Dangerfield,A. Mock, D. Ritchie, M. Holmes Goals: A. Mock 3, J. Hitchiner 3, N.Esipoff , H. Byrt , B. Schreuder , B.Martin. The seniors werehigh on confidence coming off two consecutive wins to start the season. However despite more than matching the much more experienced Rosebudoutfit all day innaccuracy early in the game and in key moments trulycost them the game not lack of endeavour or ability. Nail those easygoals and the wins will come again against the arch rival Dromana thisweekend. Best: P. Dal Lago, J. Mold, M. Dal Lago, B. Morrison, B. Maguinness Goals: M. Burns 3, K. Hopgood 2, S. Holmes , F. Backhausen
24th of April - Round 3 Vs Crib Point (Home) including Sponsors/Life Members Luncheon and ANZAC Day ceremony
Saturday saw Red Hill host Crib Point and come away with 3 wins out of 5. The under 18s wentin determined after a poor showing the week before and won easily by70+ despite kicking 11.25 and Cribby only kick two goals at the deathof the last quater! Keep up the good work lads just a bit straighter. Best: L. Nickels, J. McKinnon, M. La Fontaine, J. Dowling, D. Neal, J. Mold Goals: B. Duff 3, B. Money 2, L. Nickels , M. La Fontaine , J. Lowther , D. Neal , J. Mold , J. McKinnon. The magoosalso ran out determined after a poor showing the week before and sent adecent message to the tune of 112(crib kicked one in the last 2 minutesof the fourth). Jones 3, N. Esipoff , M. Backhausen , D. Jones , B. Martin , J. Hitchiner. The seniors didn'texactly play that well and sent a few nervous mutters through thecrowds in the last quater but they fought it out and came out on top ina game that in past seasons they would have lost. Congrats on thefighting effort, but consistency doesnt come in two games. Take it toRosebud this weekend. Best: T. Gibson, M. Shaw, A. Gilmour, J. Mold, M. Dal Lago Goals: S. Holmes 4, M. Dal Lago 3, M. Burns 3, T. Gibson 2, M. Bateman , K. Hopgood , H. Larwill , S. Hickey

7th of April - First game for 2010 (Round 2) Vs Sommerville "A Great Start To The Year"

Wetravelled to Mount Eliza, due to Sommerville's ground beingunavailable because of resurfacing, to play the Eagles for our firstgame of the year. Unfortunately, the day started on a disappointingnote with both the Under 18s and Reserves havingheavy losses. More determination, team work and attack at the ball andcontest is needed next week, which were all sure the boys will show. However, on a positive note the Seniors showed realgrit and character in holding on to win their first outing of theyear. A positive note was the quality of the opposition that the boysbeat, with Sommerville tipped to be involved at the pointy end of theseason after some impressive recruiting in the off-season. It was atough contest in which Red Hill jumped out of the blocks and lead by 8goals at half time. It was not smooth sailing after this withSommerville throwing everything at Red Hill in the second half. Despitemany players being hampered by cramping, to the boys credit they heldon for a gutsy and hard fought win. The important thing now is tostring a couple of wins together and consistently produce performancessimilar to this. Go Hillmen and bring on Crib Point. Best: P. Dal Lago, C. Spencer, H. Larwill, M. Burns, J. Mold Goals: S. Holmes 3, K. Hitchiner 2, C. Spencer 2, F. Backhausen , M. Burns , K. Hopgood , J. Mold , S. Hickey.

The ressies had a 30 point win over lastyears premiers which is a good way to end the pre-season. The seniorslost but were in control of the game but were very wasteful with easyopportunities and finished 4 points adrift of Rye.
